The Quiet Birthplace of Authentic White Tea
Nestled in the misty mountains of northern Fujian, Jianyang is one of the historic birthplaces of Chinese white tea. As early as the Song Dynasty, teas from this region were offered as imperial tribute—giving rise to the name “Gong Mei,” meaning “Tribute Eyebrow.”
Far from bustling cities, Jianyang’s tea mountains are surrounded by pristine forests and nourished by mountain springs. The region’s mild subtropical climate, abundant rainfall, and mineral-rich soils create ideal conditions for tea bushes with rich inner substances and a naturally gentle sweetness.
Unlike many modern tea-growing areas, Jianyang preserves the traditional sun-withering process. Freshly picked leaves are allowed to dry slowly under natural airflow and sunlight, with minimal human intervention. This method retains the tea’s original vitality and layered complexity, resulting in a cup that is bright, clean, and quietly expressive.
Compared to white teas from Fuding, Zhenghe, or Yunnan, Jianyang white tea is known for its elegance and purity rather than boldness—less sharp, less grassy, and more composed.
A Natural Balance Between Floral Grace and Body
Gong Mei occupies a unique position between Bai Mu Dan (White Peony) and Shou Mei, both in leaf maturity and flavor structure.
It is crafted from:
This balance gives Gong Mei a rounded mouthfeel, gentle structure, and excellent aging potential. Over time, the liquor deepens in color and complexity, revealing new layers—the quiet gift of time.
(*This tea does not promise to change your body. It simply offers a quiet moment for you to listen to it.)
