Origin of variety
Buddha’s Hand is one of the distinctive small varieties within Wuyi rock tea. Why is it called Buddha’s Hand? Its large tea leaves resemble the palm of a Buddha. The tea boasts a natural sweetness reminiscent of snow pears and a mellow taste, earning it the nickname “snow pear tea”.
The crafting of Wuyi rock tea emphasizes selecting the optimal picking period. Tea makers must time their actions precisely, considering factors like weather conditions, temperature, and humidity differences, to ensure the highest quality. The production of Buddha’s Hand is particularly challenging due to its large leaves. To maintain consistent quality, the tea makers invest significant effort into both the tea processing and carbon baking, ensuring the tea soup is clear and transparent while preserving the refreshing snow pear flavor characteristic of Buddha’s Hand. This tea boasts thick and robust strands, imbued with the distinctive coolness of the microclimate and mountainous environment. The tea soup offers a rich, fruity taste, and a sweet, fresh fruit aroma can be detected at the bottom of the cup.
