This Bai Mu Dan comes from Jianyang, northern Fujian—one of the historic birthplaces of authentic Chinese white tea. Surrounded by misty mountains, pristine forests, and nourished by mountain springs, the region offers a mild subtropical climate with abundant rainfall and mineral-rich soils.
Bai Mu Dan, often called the “Flower Fairy” of white tea, is traditionally made from one bud with one or two tender leaves. Its silvery buds and green leaves open beautifully in the cup, resembling a quiet spring flower — which is how this tea received its poetic name.
The leaves are processed using the traditional sun-withering method, allowing them to dry slowly under natural sunlight with minimal human intervention. This gentle process helps preserve the tea’s fresh floral aroma, soft sweetness, and clean, delicate texture.
While Fuding and Zhenghe white teas often show their own distinct regional expressions, Jianyang Bai Mu Dan is appreciated for its quiet elegance, purity, and restrained floral aroma. Its fragrance is clear but not overwhelming, refined rather than assertive.
Bai Mu Dan is usually harvested after Silver Needle and before Gong Mei. This gives it a natural balance of buds, fine tea hairs, young leaves, and delicate stems.
Because of this structure, Bai Mu Dan tastes fuller than Silver Needle, yet remains fresher and more floral than Gong Mei. The buds bring softness and sweetness, while the young leaves add floral aroma and a more rounded mouthfeel.
It offers an elegant white tea experience with excellent value — refined enough to feel special, but gentle and approachable enough for everyday drinking.
Fuller than Silver Needle
More texture and body than a purely bud-based white tea.
More floral than Gong Mei
Fresher, lighter, and more spring-like in aroma.
Balanced bud-and-leaf structure
A natural mix of buds, tea hairs, young leaves, and delicate stems.
Excellent everyday value
Elegant, beginner-friendly, and more accessible than Silver Needle.
Choose Bai Mu Dan if you want a white tea that is fresh, floral, soft, and more layered than a purely bud-based tea — a graceful everyday white tea with excellent balance and value.

Bai Mu Dan pairs well with light meals and gentle snacks such as steamed dishes, seafood, vegetables, plain bread, yogurt, and lightly sweet biscuits. Its clean floral sweetness makes it ideal for tea-only moments or simple pairings.
Yes. With proper storage in a cool, dry place away from strong odors, Bai Mu Dan can age well, becoming softer and more rounded over time.
