How Hot Orange Black Tea Helps Me Rebalance My Mind and Body

Hot Orange Lapsang Souchong Tea Recipe

There are days when everything feels off—when the weather is dreary, or my energy just isn’t quite right. Those are the days I turn to one of my favorite rituals: making Hot Orange Black Tea.

For me, it’s more than just a tea recipe; it’s a comforting, healing moment that I can rely on to lift my mood and center my mind. I’ve found that the simple act of brewing a cup of tea—infused with the bright, uplifting flavors of orange—has a powerful way of soothing my spirit.

Why I Love Hot Orange Black Tea

I’ve always been drawn to black tea for its bold flavor and grounding qualities. But when I add orange to the mix, something magical happens. The sweet citrus aroma lifts my spirits, and the warmth of the tea has a calming effect on my body.

For me, the combination of black tea and orange is like a hug in a cup. The antioxidants in the black tea help me feel rejuvenated, while the vitamin C in the orange provides that extra boost of energy I often need to clear my mind.

Ingredients

  • 3g Lapsang Souchong tea
  • 1 fresh orange, sliced
  • 10 rock sugar pieces or 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional)
  • Boiling water

How I Make Hot Orange Black Tea

1. Prepare the Orange: I start by slicing a fresh orange, sometimes zesting a little of the peel for extra aroma.

2. Brew the Black Tea: I pour boiling water over 3g of Lapsang Souchong tea. The bubbling water and rising steam begin to calm me even before I take my first sip.

3. Add the Orange: Once brewed, I add the orange slices directly into the tea, watching the colors swirl and the citrus aroma rise.

4. Sweeten the Tea: When I need extra comfort, I stir in honey or a few pieces of rock sugar. Sometimes I’ll add a cinnamon stick for a deeper warmth.

5. Serve and Enjoy: I pour the tea into my favorite mug, let the steam wrap around me, and take a deep, nourishing breath. It’s a mini escape—a moment just for me.

On rainy days or when I feel emotionally off balance, this tea brings me home to myself.
